Another comeback win!

Earlier in the day, Lancaster pulled out a win against Camden so the Skeeters needed a win to stay in sole possession of 1st place in the division. Michael Nix got the ball for the Skeeters while Justin Cassel was the chosen one for Somerset.
The Patriots jumped out first in the top of the 3rd inning by scoring 2 runs on 2 hits and stranding 1 runner on base. The Skeeters went 3 up & 3 down in the inning so the score stayed 2-0 after 3 innings.

The Patriots added 1 run on 2 hits in the top of the 4th inning while the Skeeters were held scoreless after a Jason Lane double...3-0 Somerset after 4 innings.

The Skeeters were able to get on the board in the bottom of the 5th inning after Steve Moss doubled, and was driven home with a Amadeo Zazueta single...3-1 after 5 innings.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, the Skeeters added 1 run to the score when Steve Moss singled, driving in Jason Lane (single) from 2nd base...3-2 after 6 innings.

The Skeeters broke out in the bottom of the 7th inning scoring 3 runs on 2 hits. Dominic Ramos (walk) scored on a Bubba Bell single, while Bubba Bell & Jason Lane (walk) scored on a Josh Pressley double to take the 5-3 lead in the 7th inning.

The Patriots made an attempt at a comeback but fell short as they were only able to score 1 run in the 8th inning, and being held scoreless in the 9th inning.

My MVP of the game is Josh Pressley. He went 1 for 4 with a double but that hit scored the game winning RBIs.

Hitting Streaks:
Dominic Ramos (4)
Amadeo Zazueta (2)

With the win, the Skeeters remain in 1st place, just 1/2 a game in front of Lancaster, for the Freedom Division.

The final game of the series is scheduled for Thursday night at 7:05pm and the Skeeters will need to win again to ensure they remain in 1st place.
