Kazmir struggles, Zazueta goes deep


After a masterfully pitched game 1 by Jason Lane, Scott Kazmir got his chance against the Somerset Patriots' Derell McCall in game 2 of the series
Somerset scored first in the top of the 2nd inning to make it 1-0. The Skeeters waited until the bottom of the 3rd inning to tie the game when Amadeo Zazueta hit a lead off home run...1-1 after 3 innings.

Kazmir got into trouble in the top of the 4th inning and allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, luckily stranding 2 runners on base...4-1 after 4 innings.

The Skeeters got 1 run back in the bottom of the 5th inning after Octavio Martinez (single) was hut over to 2nd base and later scored on an Ofilio Castro sac fly...4-2 Somerset after 5 innings.

The Skeeters' rally in the 9th inning fell short after Matt Hagen & Octavio Martinez both singled but failed to score...Somerset Patriots win 4-2.

With the loss, the series is tied 1-1 and the Skeeters are now 10-9, but still lead the Freedom Division by 1/2 a game over teh York Revolution who lost to the Bridgeport Bluefish 9-6.

The 3rd game of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:05pm.
