5 Skeeters home runs in loss

For the Skeeters, the only way to ensure they stay at the top of the division, they have to win this, the final game of the series. Kelvin Villa got another chance at the start for Sugar Land while Jon Kibler got the call for Somerset.
The Skeeters got on the board first in the bottom of the 1st with a Dominic Ramos 1-run home run...1-0 Skeeters.

The Patriots tied the game in the top of the 2nd inning with 3 hits...1-1 after 2 innings.

Both teams added multiple runs in the 3rd inning. The Patriots scored 3 runs on 3 hits, leaving 1 runner on base while the Skeeters added 2 runs with a Josh Pressley 2 out, 2-run home run, driving in Jason Lane (walk) to make the score 4-3 after 3 innings.

The Skeeters tied the game in the bottom of the 4th inning when Iggy Suarez hit a lead off home run...4-4 after 4 innings.

The bottom of the 5th inning became the 3rd inning in a row for the Skeeters to hit a home run when Jason Lane went yard making the score 5-4 Skeeters after 5 innings.

The Patriots took the lead back, 6-5, in the top of the 7th inning when Saul Rivera gave up a 2-run home run to Jake Fox. Jason Lane tied the score at 6-6 with his 2nd 1-run home run of the game.

The 9th inning fell apart for Sugar Land when pitcher Will Startup gave up 4 runs on 4 hits, one of which was a 2-run home run to Jake Fox, his 2nd 2-run home run of the night...before retiring the side down 10-6, 3 outs to go. With 1 out in the bottom of the 9th, Amadeo Zazueta doubled, Dominic Ramos was hit by a pitch & Ofilio Castro reached on an error...to load the bases for Jason Lane...but he struck out for out number 2. Josh Pressley stepped up to the plate with a chance to tie the game but he struck out to end the game. The Patriots win 10-6.

My MVP of the game goes to Jason Lane. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 RBIs.

Hitting Streaks:
Iggy Suarez (6)
Dominic Ramos (5)
Amadeo Zazueta (3)
Jason Lane (2)
Josh Pressley (2)
Steve Moss (2)

Home Runs:
Josh Pressley (12)
Dominic Ramos (9)
Jason Lane - 2 (8)
Iggy Suarez (5)

This was by far the most home runs hit in a single game at Constellation Field with 7 long balls happening tonight, 5 for Sugar Land & 2 for Somerset. For the series, there were 9 home runs total, 7 for the Skeeters & 2 for the Patriots.

With this loss, and a Lancaster win, the Skeeters are now a 1/2 game out of 1st place behind Lancaster.

The team will now hit the road for 6 games, 3 at Camden beginning tomorrow at 6:05pm local time, and 3 at Long Island.
