Lane dominates for the win

The Skeeters welcomed the Somerset Patriots to Constellation Field and put Jason Lane on the mound to face off against Roy Merritt for the Patriots. Just 1 game separates these 2 teams in the division, Skeeters in 1st place at 9-8, Patriots in 4th place at 8-9...so to say we needed to win is an understatement!
The Skeeters got on the board first in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Dominic Ramos hit a 1-out, 1-run home run to give the Skeeters the 1-0 lead.

With 1 out on the bottom of the 6th inning, Bubba Bell singled and Josh Pressley walked. Both scored on a Matt Hagen double to make the score 3-09 skeeters!

Jason Lane pitched 7 dominating innings, allowing just 2 hits, 1 walk & 4 strike outs while holding the Patriots scoreless. That give Lane 30 scoreless innings over his last 4 starts...the definition of domination! He was replaced by Roberto "The Undertaker" Giron in the top of the 8th inning and after giving up a lead off double, he struck out the side!

Gary Majewski came out in the top of the 9th inning to go for his 14 Save of the season...and secures the win after giving up 2 hits. SKEETERS WIN 3-0!!

My MVP of the game is Jason Lane for his dominating 7 inning performance...and win!

Hitting Streaks:
Ofilio Castro (7)
Bubba Bell (5)
Octavio Martinez (3)
Dominic Ramos (2)
Matt Hagen (2)

Home Runs:
Dominic Ramos (8)

With the win, the Skeeters now have a 10-8 record, 6-4 over the last 10 games, and hold 1st place by themselves in the Freedom Division for the 2nd half by half a game over the York Revolution who were idle tonight.

Game 2 will have Scott Kazmir pitching for the Skeeters and is scheduled to start at 7:05pm.
