Series split with Camden

The hopes of a series win were high for the Skeeters tonight in the final game against Camden. Heath Phillips threw in his normal rotation spot against Keith Weiser for Camden.
The Skeeters got on the score board first with a single by Josh Pressley to drive in Dominic Ramos (lead off double) to make the score 1-0 after 1 inning.

As typical outings go for Phillips, he began to struggle in the middle innings. This time, in the 4th inning, he gave up 4 runs on 4 hits, 3 runs coming off a home run by Eduardo Perez to the Performance Mazda Picnic Pavilion in left field. After a lead off double by Matt Hagen, Iggy Suarez hit a 2-run home run to the same spot for the Skeeters. The score was 4-3 Camden after the 4th inning.

Pedro Liriano came out to pitch in the 5th inning and gave up a 1-run home run to Pedro Feliz. The Skeeters went 3 up & 3 down to make the score 5-3 after the 5th inning.

Liriano gave up another 1-run home run in the top of the 7th inning, this time to Eduardo Perez, his 2nd of the game. Josh Pressley hit a lead off single, and after 2 walks to Steve Moss & Iggy Suarez, scored on an Octavio Martinez single to make the score 6-4 after 7 innings.

The Riversharks added another run in the top of the 9th inning to take the 7-4 lead. The Skeeter faithful in the stands were ready for another come back when Matt Hagen took the first pitch of the inning to left field for a 1-run home run...7-5. With 1 out, and Octavio Martinez & Amadeo Zazueta on base due to walks, Dominic Ramos stepped up and hit a game ending 6-4-3 double play...Camden wins 7-5.
