Skeeters cruising in the winner's Lane

In the 1st game of the 4-game series, Jason Lane (0-0, 6.00 ERA) got his first start of the season for the Skeeters. The Revs would send their newest pitcher Matt Chico (0-0, 0.00 ERA) to the mound to face the visitors.

Lane pitched 5 complete innings facing only 17 batters, just 2 over the minimum possible...putting him in-line for his 1st win of the season. In those 5 innings, Lane allowed 2 hits, both singles, struck out 3 Revs and did not allow a walk. Great outing for the newest Skeeters' pitcher!

The Skeeters started slowly and did not put any runs on the board until the 3rd inning...when they scored 5 runs to take the 5-0 lead. Ryde Rodriguez scored on a Josh Pressley walk, Bubba Bell & Miguel Negron scored on an Ofilio Castro double, Josh Pressley scored after 2 consecutive wild pitches, and Ofilio Castro scored on a Matt Hagen double before the side was retired.

Pedro Liriano (1-2, 2.94 ERA) came in to relieve Lane for the 6th inning. Liriano faced 5 batters, allowed 2 hits and gave 1 run back to the Revs...score was 5-1 after 6 innings.

The Skeeters got the run back in the top of the 8th inning after Matt Hagen doubled, then scored on an Iggy Suarez single to make the score 6-1. Eric Krebs (1-1, 1.71 ERA) came in for Liriano in the 8th inning and started throwing heat...reaching 93 MPH with his fastball!! After getting the 1st out, he allowed the next 3 batters to reach...giving up 1 run in the process. Gaetti had seen enough and pulled Krebs replacing him with Gary Majewski (2-0, 1.13 ERA, 5 Saves). With the score 6-2, it is a save situation for Majewski. The Revs were able to get 1 more run, credited to Krebs, to make the score 6-3 good guys.

The first 2 batters, Bubba Bell (double) & Miguel Negron (BB, 3rd for night), reached base in the top of the 9th inning and with 2 consecutive wild pitches, Bubba Bell was able to score making it 7-3...which happens to be the final score...SKEETERS WIN!!!

The win is the 4th consecutive win for Sugar Land making the record 22-28, 5-5 over the last 10 games. With this being the only game played tonight, the Skeeters are now 8 games behind Lancaster for 1st and 2 games behind Somerset and York for 3rd.

Jason Lane got his first win of the season...in his first start, and Gary Majewski got his 6th save of the season.
