Long Island Ducks win 2012 ALPB Championship


Lyons' single gives the Long Island Ducks walk-off win over the Lancaster Barnstormers, 5-4

A walk-off single from Dan Lyons brought home the winning run for the Long Island Ducks (6-4) in a 5-4 victory over the Lancaster Barnstormers (5-3) at Bethpage Ballpark on Sunday.
Lyons was solid at the plate for the Long Island Ducks. Lyons went 1-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the ninth innings.
Kraig Binick reached base four times. He singled in the first, second, and sixth innings.
Bobby Blevins allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out five over six innings of work.
It was a good day at the plate for the Lancaster Barnstormers' Travis Denker. Denker went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and fourth innings and homered in the ninth inning.
Leo Rosales recorded his first win of the year for the Long Island Ducks. He allowed two runs over one inning. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.
Joe Bateman couldn't get it done on the bump for the Lancaster Barnstormers, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
