Skeeters bite Ducks in 8th


In the final game of the series, and season match-up, the Skeeters looked to Scott Kazmir to get a win in his 12th attempt. He would take the mound against Bobby Blevins in an attempt to record his 3rd win of the season.
The Skeeters took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Josh Pressley lead off with a single and was followed by a single hit by Bubba Bell. Ofilio Castro then hit the 3rd single in a row to score Pressley from 2nd base. After Bell advanced to 3rd base on a fly out, he scored on a sac fly by Iggy Suarez. The score was 2-0 after 2 innings.

The Ducks & Skeeters battled back and forth until the 8th inning when the Ducks tied the score on a Lee Cruz 2-run home run off Saul Rivera. The Skeeters came fighting back in the inning and took the lead back. Ofilio Castro singled then came in to score on an Iggy Suarez double and Suarez scored on a Dominic Ramos double. 4-2 Skeeters after 8 innings.

Gary Majewski came in for the 9th inning and gave up 1 run on 2 hits to earn his 22nd save of the season...SKEETERS WIN 4-3!!

The MVP of the game is Dominic Ramos. He went 2 for 5 with a single, double, and the game-winning RBI.

The Skeeters end the season match-up with the Long Island Ducks with a 9-11 record, but win the final series 3-1.

With this win, the Skeeters are now 7.5 games out of 1st place behind Lancaster and 3.5 games out of second place behind York.

The boys have a day off, travel day, on Tuesday but will get back to it when they start a 6-game road trip at Somerset for 2 games & Bridgeport for 4 games.
