Skeeters shutout in Long Island


After a masterful series against Camden where the Skeeters swept the 3-game series, they looked to continue the stretch with a win against the Long Island Ducks. Michael Nix got the start for the Skeeters and Chris Hayes got the start for the Ducks.
Chris Hayes pitched 8 innings of shutout ball against the Skeeters allowing 7 hits and striking out just 1 batter to dominate the 6-0 Ducks win.

Micheal Nix gets credit for the loss as he went 5 innings, allowed 3 runs on 5 hits while walking 3 and striking out 5. Jeff Farnsworth pitched 3 innings, allowed 3 runs on 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out 2.

Just 5 of the 9 batters got hits for the Skeeters with 1 double, & 6 singles.

With the loss, the Skeeters are 14-11, only 1 game behind Lancaster as they had the day off.

Game 2 of the 3-game series is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:05pm local time.
