Riversharks bite the Skeeters


Coming off a 4-2 series win over the Bluefish, the Skeeters looked to continue winning in the 3-game series against Camden. First on the mound for the Skeeters was Michael Nix, facing off against Mike McGuire for the Riversharks.
The Skeeters got on the board first when Aaron Bates hit a 1-run home run in the top of the 2nd inning. They added a run in the top of the 4th inning when Dionys Cesar hit a 1-run home run to give the Skeeters a 2-0 lead.

The Riversharks were able to get 2  runs off 3 hits in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the game at 2-2, but took the lead for good on a 2-run single by Steve Doetsch in the bottom of the 7th inning.

The Skeeters batters went 3 up & 3 down in the 8th & 9th innings to end the game...Camden wins 4-2.

With the loss, the Skeeters stay 7 games behind Lancaster, who also lost, for 1st place in the division.

Game 2 of the series is scheduled for 4:35pm local time on Saturday.
