3 home runs = 1 win!

The Skeeters started the 4 game series against the Camden Riversharks with Scott Kazmir looking to continue his success from the last game he pitched. The Riversharks sent Kevin Reese to the mound to face the Skeeters.
Camden got on the board first in the top of the 1st inning with a lead-off home run form Chris Walker. With Dominic Ramos (single) standing on 3rd after a 1-out single by Bubba Bell, Jason Land grounded out to 1st base, allowing Ramos to score and tie the game...1-1 after 1 inning.

Both pitchers controlled the 2nd & 3rd inning but lost control in the 4th inning.

Kazmir gave up a 1-out grand slam to Chris Walker, who gets credit for all 5 of the Riversharks runs at this point. Kazmir was done after giving up 5 runs on 7 hits with 3 walks and 3 strike outs. Pedro Liriano came in and retired the side. The Skeeters got 2 runs back on an Aaron Bates 2-run home run with Josh Pressley (walk) on base. That made the score 5-3 after 4 innings.

The Skeeters took their first lead of the game in the 5th inning when Josh Pressley doubled scoring Ofilio Castro (single) and Bubba Bell (single). Pressley then scored when Aaron Bates doubled to make the score 6-5 Skeeters.

Liriano pitched the 6th inning before Jeff Farnsworth took over in the 7th inning and went 3 up & 3 down while striking out 1 batter. Liriano went 2.2 innings, gave up just 1 hit while striking out 3 batters.

The Skeeters added 2 more runs in the 7th inning when Jason Lane & Josh Pressley hit back-to-back home runs...8-6 Skeeters!

Roberto "The Undertaker" Giron took over in the 8th inning and allowed 1 walk but struck out 2 batters before retiring the side.

Even though he has struggled of late, Gary Majewski took the mound in the 9th inning to seal the win and retired the side 3 up & 3 down getting his 13th save of the season...SKEETERS WIN 8-5!!!

My MVP of the game is Aaron Bates. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and double while driving in 3 runs...most importantly, the winning run in the 5th inning.
