Revs cruise past Skeeters again

Looking to square the record against the Revs, the Skeeters sent Michael Nix (1-5, 9.26 ERA) to the mound for the start against Omar Javier (0-5. 6.61 ERA) for the Revs.

It took the Revs until the bottom of the 3rd inning but they put runs on the board first by sending 7 batters to the plate, getting 3 hits which resulted in 3 runs to take the 3-0 lead.

Nix pitched 4.0 innings, allowed 3 runs on 5 hits with 1 walk and 5 strike outs...Dustin Richardson (1-0, 0.00 ERA) came in as relief in the 5th inning

The Skeeters batting struggles continued from yesterday's DH into the top of the 5th inning when Matt Hagen belted a lead-off HR to make the score 3-1 Revs.

The pitching took over once again but in the bottom of the 7th inning, the Revs added 3 more runs after getting 4 hits from 7 batters...making the score 6-1 Revs after 7 innings.

Richardson lasted 3.0 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 2 walks and 2 strike outs...Ryan McKeller (1-4, 5.45 ERA) came in to relieve Richardson in the 8th inning.

McKeller pitched a 3 up & 3 down inning to keep the score 6-1...3 outs left for the Skeeters to get something done.

The Skeeters failed to even get a base runner as they went 3 up & 3 down...with 3 strike outs in the inning. The final score was 6-1...Revs win.

With the loss today, the Skeeters are 22-31...so far out of 1st place that I am no longer even going to report that fact. The Skeeters will continue to strengthen the line-up, hopefully overhaul the starting pitching / bullpen, and work for making the playoffs in the second half of the season.

Hitting Streaks:
Bubba Bell (2)

Home Runs:
Matt Hagen (2)

"Painful Fact": The Revs had only scored 11 runs in the first 7 games against Sugar Land but in the last 3 games, they scored 29 runs (17, 6, 6)!

The boys have Thursday off as they travel home to prepare for a 6-game series against the Camden Riversharks.
