The Somerset Patriots fend off the Sugar Land Skeeters' late push, hold on 3-1

The Sugar Land Skeeters (6-1) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Somerset Patriots (4-3) on Thursday, as the Sugar Land Skeeters fell 3-1 at TD Bank Ballpark after falling behind by three runs in the fifth inning.
The Sugar Land Skeeters scored one run in the sixth on a solo home run by Chase Lambin. Despite their efforts, the Sugar Land Skeeters couldn't get over the hump.
Yunesky Sanchez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Somerset Patriots. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.
The Somerset Patriots relied on Brad Thompson to eat up innings en route to the win. Thompson pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk while striking out two.
Scott Elarton ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
