Skeeters get back-to-back 4-0 shutouts!

Needing to get a strong run together in hopes of making the playoffs in their 1st year, the Skeeters sent pitching ace Jason Lane to the mound to face off against Bob Zimmermann for the Long Island Ducks.
In the bottom of the 1st inning, the Skeeters loaded the bases with 2 outs. Dionys Cesar doubled, and was followed up by Josh Pressley & Steve Moss both being walked. During Bubba Bell's at bat, Cesar was able to score on a wild pitch, then Bell walked loading the bases for the 2nd time in the inning. Unfortunately, that was all the Skeeters could get across before the side was retired. 1-0 Skeeters!

Jason Lane dominated the night by pitching 7 innings, allowing just 3 hits while walking 1 batter and striking out 4 Ducks to earn his 8th win of the season.

An insurance run was added in the 7th inning when Matt Hagen (double) scored on an errant throw to 1st base trying to get Iggy Suarez out on a sac bunt. The score was 2-0 Skeeters after 7 innings.

Roberto "The Undertaker" Giron pitched a scoreless inning for the 8th in relief of Lane.

The final 2 runs of the game came in the bottom of the 8th inning. Josh Pressley reached base via his 3rd walk of the game to lead the inning off. Manny Mejia came in as a pinch runner but his speed was not needed as Steve Moss hit a 2-run home run that landed in the Skeeters bullpen...while Majewski was warming up to enter the 9th inning. The score after 8 innings was 4-0 Skeeters...again!

Gary Majewski came in for the 9th inning close and despite allowing 1 hit, retired the side holding the Ducks scoreless...SKEETERS WIN 4-0!!!

These 2 back-to-back shutout wins became the first in franchise history!

Steve Moss gets the MVP of the game for going 1 for 3 with 1 HR & 2 RBIs on the night.

Hitting Streaks:
Steve Moss (9)
Ofilio Castro (8)
Matt Hagen (5)
Dionys Cesar (3)

Home Runs:
Steve Moss (8)

Both the Lancaster Barnstormers & York Revolution had their games postponed due to weather so the Skeeters moved 1/2 a game closer to both teams.

Game 3 of the series is scheduled for Sunday at 6:05pm at Constellation Field.
