Struggles continue against Lancaster

After an 8-5 loss last night, the Skeeters needed to get back to their winning ways if they wanted to have a chance at the second half playoff spot for the Freedom Division. Scott Kazmir got the start for the Skeeters in hopes of turning the ship around, and faced off against Horacio Ramirez for the Barnstormers.
Not much good happened for the Skeeters and there was no run support for Kazmir, Parcell, & McKeller. Kazmir went 4.1 innings, allowed 6 runs on 6 hits while walking 2 and striking out 5 batters. Garrett Parcell came in for relief but did not fair any better against Lancaster. He went just .2 innings (2 outs) while allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and walking 1 batter. Ryan McKeller was the next pitcher to face the Barnstormers and actually fared pretty well. He went 4 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits while walking 1 and striking out 2 batters.

The Skeeters were able to get just 6 hits on the night. Jason Lane accounted for 2 hits while Dominic Ramos, Iggy Suarez, Aaron Bates & Ofilio Castro all had 1 hit.

Hitting Streaks:
Jason Lane (2)
Dominic Ramos (2)

With this 9-0 loss, the 3rd loss in a row to Lancaster, Sugar Land is now 4.5 games behind division leader Lancaster and just a 1/2 game ahead of Somerset & York.

Game 4 of the 6 game series is scheduled for 7:05pm local time.
