Rough times on the road

After losing the Lancaster series 5-1, the Skeeters hoped to get things headed in the right direction against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. The Blue Crabs, however, looked to keep their winning ways going and stay on top of their division.
In game 1, despite Josh Pressley hitting 2 home runs for 3 RBI, the Skeeters lost 9-4. Jeff Farnsworth got his 2nd start, and 2nd loss, of the season and went 6 innings giving up 7 runs on 9 hits wile walking 1 and striking out 6 batters.

The Skeeters were able to muster up enough runs in game 2 to get the win 3-2. Sugar Land's newest pitcher, Tim Redding, went 6 solid innings and held the Blue Crabs scoreless while not allowing a walk & striking out  3 batters to earn his 1st win for his new team.

The Skeeters fell into the same rut they have been on while traveling for game 3...not hitting. The bats were only able to collect 4 hits which resulted in just 2 runs scored. Scott Kazmir got the start, and loss, with 6 innings pitched. He gave up 4 runs on 5 hits, walked a ridiculous 9 batters while striking out 4 batters. The final score was 5-2 Blue Crabs.

The final game of the series is scheduled for Sunday at 4:05pm local time. The next series is a 4-game rematch against the division leaders Lancaster Barnstormers at their house.
