Skeeters fall 5-1

Jason Lane got the start for the Skeeters and went 5.2 innings, gave up 2 runs with 6 hits while walking 3 and striking out 4. He was charged with his first loss of the season with this loss. Lane, other than giving up 2 runs in the 1st inning, pitched a great game and kept the Skeeters within striking distance but got little to no run support from the bats. The Skeeters did not score a run until the 6th inning. In the 6th, Steve Moss hit his 1st HR of the season as a Skeeter making the score 2-1...well within reach for another come from behind win. All that changed when Derrick Gordon gave up 3 runs on 5 hits in 1.1 innings pitched...making the score 5-1, Camden. The Skeeters were only able to muster 4 hits for the entire game, thus losing the game to Camden 5-1.

The loss snaps the 5-game consecutive win streak the Skeeters had over the Riversharks.

Hitting Streaks:
Ofilio Castro (3)

Home Runs: Steve Moss (1)

The 4th game of the series is scheduled to start at 7:05pm Monday night.
