Skeeters end 4-game slide

After dropping 3 in a row to the visiting Patriots, the Skeeters needed to figure out a way to get a win. Bobby Livingston (3-2, 4.53 ERA) got the call for the Skeeters and Justin Cassel (1-5, 3.64 ERA) took the mound for the Patriots.

The Skeeters got out to a quick lead after Bubba Bell hit a double and was driven in on a Dominic Ramos single in the 1st inning.

Bobby Livingston was in control with the Patriots going 3 up & 3 down in the first 2 innings. But when the 3rd inning rolled around, he gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, leaving 2 runners on base. The score was 2-1 Somerset.

Livingston once again gained control of the game sitting 6 Patriots down in order for the 4th & 5th innings. The Skeeters were able to tie the game at 2-2 when Bubba Bell scored on a Manny Mejia ground ball that resulted in a double play.

The Somerset Patriots sent 7 batters to the plate...over the 6th & 7th innings...and were able to manage just 1 hit. Even though the Skeeters could not manage a hit in the 7th inning, they were able to scrape 1 run out of 2 walks, a hit by pitch, and a catcher obstruction which put Matt Hagen on 1st base with a 2 ball & 2 strike count. The score was 2-3 after 7 innings...Bobby Livingston was in line for his 4th win of the season.

Gary Majewski came in for the 8th inning and other than giving up a walk, got out of the inning unscathed. The Skeeters sent 7 batters to the plate and scored 2 runs on 3 hits. Iggy Suarez scored on a Dominic Ramos single, and Dominic Ramos scored on a Manny Mejia single. The Skeeters increased the lead to 2-5...SKEETERS WIN!!

Majewski continued his domination of the Patriots batters as they went 3 up & 3 down to end the game. Gary Majewski got his 4th save of the season and Bobby Livingston notched his 4th win of the season.
