Patriots swat the Skeeters...again

After becoming the losing pitcher in the final game of the series, Ryan Ketchner is now 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA in just 7.1 innings pitched over 3 games started. He went 3 innings tonight giving up 6 runs on 6 hits.

The Patriots struck first in the 2nd inning putting 2 runs on the board...and added 4 runs to the board in the top of the 3rd inning to lead 6-0. Dominic Ramos, Bubba Bell, & Josh Pressley all scored in the bottom of the inning to bring the Skeeters to within 3 runs at 6-3 after 3 innings.

The top of the 4th inning was the 3rd inning in a row for the Patriots to put runs on the board by adding 2 more to lead 8-3. Dominic Ramos reached on an error and Bubba Bell drove him in with a triple to make the score 8-4 after 4 innings.

The scoring hit a dry spell during the rest of the game until the 9th inning when Patriots batter Jesse Hoorelbeck hit a 1-run home run, his 10th HR of the season, to make the score 9-4...which happens to be the final score.

Jason Lane came in to pitch the 4th, 5th, & 6th innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 4 batters.

Hitting Streaks:

Ofilio Castro (2)

The loss drops the Skeeters' record to 18-27, 9 games under .500 ball. It also puts them 9.5 games out of 1st place and 3.5 games behind York for 3rd place. The 18-27 record is also the worst in the league...not just the Freedom Division.

The Skeeters now head back out on the road for 8 games. The first 4 games will be played against the Camden Riversharks beginning on Thursday, with the final 4 games against the York Revolution.
