Matt Wright now in Phillies organization

The Sugar Land Skeeters announced today that top pitcher, Matt Wright, had hi contract purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Wright was by far the best pitcher on the team so the opportunity is well deserved. Wright leaves the team with a 2-0 record on 8 games started. He pitched a total of 49 innings giving up 12 earned runs for a 2.20 ERA...2nd in the league among starting pitchers. He leads the league in strike outs with 47...an average just under 1 strike out per inning!

Wright will be missed in the rotation but hopefully things won't suffer too much and his replacement can step up and fill the big shoes Wright leaves behind.

GOOD LUCK MATT!!! KEEP MOWING 'EM DOWN!!!
