Ducks fly high, win 7-1 over Skeeters

Looking to extend their consecutive shutout games against the Ducks, the Skeeters sent Tim Redding tothe mound to face off against John Brownell.
Redding came out and dominated the 1st & 2nd innings but got in trouble in the 3rd and eventually gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. The fielders did not help much and committed 2 errors in the inning. 2-0 Ducks after 3 innings.

Redding settled down for the 4th inning but once again, in the 5th, got in trouble. This time, however, he was unable to recover and was replaced by Pedro Liriano after giving up 5 hits and 2 runs. Liriano came in with the bases loaded and 3 more runs scored before he could get out of the inning...all charged to Redding. 7-0 Ducks after 5 innings.

The Skeeters finally got 1 run on the board in the bottom of the 7th inning. With 2 outs, Bubba Bell singled & Steve Moss walked to start the rally. Iggy Suarez then singled, bringing home Bell from 2nd base but that is where it ended. 7-1 Ducks after 7 innings.

7-1 would eventually be the final score as well...Ducks win.

All of the Skeeters consecutive game hitting streaks came to an end in this game as only 3 batters, Bell, Pressley, & Suarez were able to record hits.

With this loss, the Skeeters are now 8 games behind Lancaster for 1st place and 3.5 games behind York for 2nd place. There is still time to make a move with 13 games to go but the Skeeters have to get serious to make that move happen.

The final game of this series, and the season series, with the Ducks is scheduled for 7:05pm at Constellation Field on Monday night.
