Worldwide Leader Will Cover 'Rocket's' Pitching for Sugarland Skeeters in Aug. 25 Minor League Game

ESPN will be on the scene when Roger Clemens makes his return to the mound on Saturday night in a minor-league game.
ESPN Classic and broadband service ESPN3, according to sources familiar with the plans, will simulcast Clemens as he takes the hill for the Sugarland Skeeters of the Atlantic League in their Aug. 25 matchup in Texas against the Bridgeport Bluefish.
In addition to the full game coverage on the aforementioned outlets, ESPN outlets are also expected to cover Clemens' arrival at the ballpark and his warm-up, as well as pre- and post-game interviews.

An ESPN spokesman would only say the programmer is "exploring the opportunity" around the upcoming Clemens' content.
Clemens, 50, who last pitched in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees, was named in MLB's Mitchell Report that listed big-league players suspected of using performance-enhancing drug case. In June, he was acquitted in United States District Court of charges that he lied to Congress in 2008, when he swore he never used human growth hormone and/or steroids.
It has been widely reported that the "Rocket" could use his turn with the Houston-area Skeeters as potential prelude to pitching for the Houston Astros before the conclusion of the 2012 MLB season. Clemens, who pitched for the club and helped lead it to its only World Series appearance in 2005, has a personal services contract with the squad. Should he throw for the Astros it would push back the inaugural vote for his Hall of Fame eligibility for five years. None of the former MLB players who have been tied to or suspected of using PEDs has received anywhere near enough votes to be considered for entry into Cooperstown.
