Skeeters hook Bluefish...win 6-2
On a night that looked like it would not happen due to weather, the Skeeters took the field against the Bluefish in game 3 of the series. Bobby Livingston got the start for the Skeeters and Chris Hayes threw for the Bluefish.
The Skeeters got on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Jason Lane (double) scored on s Manny Mejia double...1-0 good guys.
Ryde Rodriguez (single, stolen base) scored when Bubba Bell hit a single to make the score 2-0 home team after 3 innings.
That is where the score stayed until the top of the 6th inning when the Bluefish were able to score 1 run on 3 hits, leaving 2 runners on base. The Skeeters bats were able to get that run back...plus add an extra run to increase the lead to 4-1. Jason Lane (single) scored on a Matt Hagen double & Matt Hagen scored when Manny Mejia hit a single.
Livingston was done after 6 innings but was in-line for his 9th win of the season. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits while walking 2 and striking out 7 batters. Phenomenal performance!! Jusef Frias relieved Livingston and gave up 1 hit before retiring the side.
Iggy Suarez added an insurance run when he blasted a 1-run home run to left field...5-1 Skeeters after 7 innings.
In the 8th inning, Roberto Giron came in for Frias and gave up a 1-run home run to Eddie Rogers but the Skeeters took it back on a Jason Lane 1-run home run to left field...6-2 Skeeters.
Gary Majewski came in to relive Roberto Giron and retired the side on 12 pitches...SKEETERS WIN 6-2!!!
My MVP of the game is Jason Lane. He went 3-4 with a single, a double, a home run and had 3 RBIs.
Hitting Streaks:
Bubba Bell (6)
Matt Hagen (4)
Steve Moss (2)
Ryde Rodriguez (2)
Home Runs:

The final game of the series, and the first half, is scheduled for a 6:05pm local start time.
